Kids simply do not spend enough time on their defense, and it shows in games. The Infield Clinic is a tremendous opportunity for players that have a desire to play one of the infield positions to learn the skills necessary to become a successful infielder. Coach Jason Aquilante, voted the ACC’s best defensive second baseman while at Wake Forest University, will be leading the clinic again this year. Coach Aquilante has spent almost 20 years working with infielders at the youth, collegiate and professional levels.
The clinic is meant for players looking to advance their skills at any of the infield positions. Players will go through drills as a group; but will also be separated by position for other drills. Instruction will focus on all aspects of fielding, including forehands, backhands, charge plays, doubleplays, cuts and relays, and more.
The camp will adhere to recommendations for maintaining a safe environment during COVID-19. Coach Aquilante just completed a 9-week Fall program and is very aware of how to run an effective camp while adhering to safety standards. Coach Aquilante will wear a mask throughout the camp; players will remain physically distant during drills; hand sanitizer will be onsite; and there will be no sharing of equipment. All players must have their own glove.
Too many players focus on hitting during the winter months. Register for the Infield Clinic and develop the skills that will truly make you a valuable asset on any team!
